This wonderful handbag was made for me by the iconic Aspenite, Chester Goss, who made these entirely by hand. His home/store “Gypsy Woman” was on Main Street in Aspen, Colorado, next to the Explore Bookstore. I am listing another of his as well. He made this for me when I moved to Aspen in 2004. I bought the larger bag, also listed, first and he and I got along and I had him make me a smaller one as well. It is signed by him and dated and it does have my name in it - Wendy. I took extreme care with it and it is in pristine condition. It is made of the softest deerskin and features a beautiful beaded eagle, turquoise, sterling silver and other wonderful charms, beads from his collection. The bag has a front flap with the beaded design with a smaller pouch under it and two larger pockets as well. It holds the perfect amount if you are not carrying anything large. It can be worn cross-body, or you can tie the strap and shorten it to be a shoulder bag. The bag is 9” wide, 9” high and has a 44” braided strap. It is a wonderful piece of Aspen history. Rare!
